Lufthansa Airlines History
Lufthansa Airlines was formed with the merger between Deutsche Aero Lloyd and Junkers Luftyerkehr on January 6, 1926. The company's original name was Deutsche "Luft Hansa Aktiengesellschaft" when it started its services in Berlin.
Lufthansa Airlines Fleet
Lufthansa Airlines boasts of a modern environmentally friendly fleet consisting of Airbus A340-600s, A340-300s, A330-300s, A300-600s, A321s, A320s and A319s and Boeing 747-400s, 737-300s, 737-500 along with Avro RJ85 and CRJ 700 and MD 11F. The airline will shortly be incorporating Embraer 190 and Airbus A380-800 in its huge fleet.
