Emirates Airlines is the official international Airline of the United Arab Emirates and based in Dubai. Emirates is one of the fastest growing airlines with one of the youngest fleet in the skies. The airline is one of the key corporations in the Emirates Group and is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. Emirates Airways is committed to providing excellent service to its clientele and has received 300 international awards for its excellence, comfort and superior technology since its launch in 1985.
Emirates Airlines History
Emirates Airlines was launched in October 1985 with inaugural flights to Bombay, Delhi and Karachi with planes that were leased from Pakistan International Airlines. Emirates consequently started its European operations in July 1987 and in 1998 changed its name to Sri Lankan Airlines after acquiring a financial stake of 40% from Air Lanka.
Emirates Airlines Fleet
Emirates Airlines operates one of the youngest fleets in the world with state-of-the-art technology to provide their passengers with a superior flight experience. Emirates has a fleet of 92 modern aircrafts which include Boeing 777-200/300, Airbus A330 -200, Airbus A340-500, and Airbus A340-300.The airline will have 122 Boeing 777s and 58Airbus A350s by the year 2016 making it the single largest air fleet in the world.
Emirates Airlines Operations
Emirates Airways has a worldwide network which spans over 100 destinations in 56 countries worldwide including Europe, the Far East, Middle East, Asia, Africa and North America from Dubai. The airline has a strong presence in the Southeastern region which links Dubai with more international destinations than any other Middle Eastern Airline. In India, Emirates Airlines flies from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Thiruvanthapuram.
