Air France History
Air France was born with the merger of five airlines namely: Air Orient, Compagnie Genrale Aeropostale Societe Generale de Transport Aerien, Air Union and CIDNA on October 7, 1933. Air France took over KLM in May 2004 resulting in the creation of Air France-KLM. At present both Air France and KLM operate as distinct brands.
