Atlas Air Deploys Flightman™ on 747-400 Fleet

In a joint press release, Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT), an aviation operations software provider,  and Atlas Air, Inc., an outsourced aircraft services provider, announced an agreement where AMT will deploy its FlightMan™ suite of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) applications across Atlas Air’s fleet of Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
“We are excited to begin the EFB software implementation with Atlas Air and believe that the Flightman™ solution will facilitate the streamlining of existing operational processes with Atlas Air,” said Joe McGoldrick, Chief Executive, AMT.
Utilizing funding and support under the FAA’s Capstone 3 project, Atlas Air expects to receive both operational and Safety Benefits by implementing Electronic Flight Bag technologies.
“As an active participant in the FAA Capstone program, it was imperative that Atlas Air select a best-in-class solution for the management of data on and off the EFB,” said Jeff Carlson, VP Flight Operations, Atlas Air, Inc.
AMT’s Flightman™ software suite includes eJourney Log, Log Conent Manager and eForms applications, and allows information to be exchanged between the on-board EFB and ground-based back-offce systems. Atlas Air’s EFB solution will also support Jeppesen’s Airport Moving Map application, which provides increased situational awareness during taxi operations by providing own-ship position information on taxi diagrams.
“The Flightman™ modular approach means we can incrementally deploy additional functionality on the EFB as our business requirements grow,” said Carlson.
