A plane has crashed in southern Indian, leaving 160 feared dead.
The Boeing 737-800 Air Indian Express service from Dubai overshot the runway at Mangalore airport.
According to local reports there may be a small number of survivors.
But a police superintendent quoted on BBC news said the chances of finding survivors were "bleak" as most of the plane had been burnt out.
The BBC report also said that smoke from the crash site was so bad that it was difficult for rescue workers to get close to the plane.
Mangalore airport is situated at the top of a hill and is known for having a challenging landing approach for pilots.
